1. Choose the motor form according to the different installation location of the motor. For example, in inflammable and explosive places of petrochemical industry, explosion-proof motors should be chosen. In other places, open motors can be used. 2. Determine the power of the motor according to the load usage. The power of motor should generally be 1.1-1.5 times of the power of production machinery. If the power selection is too large, it will not only increase the investment, but also reduce the mechanical efficiency and increase the production cost. If the power selection is too small, the motor will endure long-term overload, which will cause excessive temperature rise and damage the insulation, and shorten the service life of the motor.
3. Select the motor according to the speed requirement of the working machinery and the transmission mode of the reducer. The principle of speed matching is to make the motor and production machinery run at rated speed, and the transmission mode is the same.
